Our Experience

We have been working in our preferred format of Revit MEP for more than two years and in that time we’ve delivered a considerable number of BIM Level 2 projects across a variety of sectors.

We work collaboratively in multi-discipline teams to deliver high quality, coordinated schemes following the standards of PAS 1192-3: 2013 from Employers Information Requirements (EIR’s), development of project specific BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and operate following the formal process workflows and approvals along with development of Asset Information Models (AIM) for handover.

We have developed standard AIM templates that are formalised with client stakeholders in order to develop correct data and content within our models throughout the design, construction and handover work stages. This involves working closely with the client’s delivery team to develop servicing strategy, brief and handover requirements.

We are working on a number of projects as part of our multi-discipline procurement approach to deliver 3D AIMs complete with appropriate services data content that can integrate with a client’s CAFM (computer-aided facility management) software. Use of this software allows a seamless transition between design, construction and operational stages.

We currently offer Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE) across a number of schemes in line with the Government’s Soft Landings (GSL) approach. We champion better outcomes for built assets throughout every stage of a project. GSL is powered by an appropriate Building Information Model (BIM) to ensure value is achieved within the operational lifecycle of the asset.

Our Approach

ESD follows the guidance and standards set out in PAS 1192-3: 2013 as part of our collaborative approach to deliver quality building services design asset information across the build process.

We developed our bespoke systems and templates for aligning our processes and structure across the company including:

  • Development of our bespoke ESD BIM Execution Plan (BEP) that sets out our company procedures whilst allowing us to work as part of a multiple-disciplinary team
  • Ensuring staff are suitably qualified, appropriately trained and mentored
  • Setting working practices that meet PAS 1192-3: 2013
  • Using common data environments to share information across the team, promoting collaborative working
  • Applying detailed clash resolution practices at each work stage
