This project completed in November 2016 comprises of a dementia care home providing 84No care bedrooms linked to a number of dementia friendly communal areas. This project follows the client’s successful development of the Drovers house care home in Rugby opened in 2014 and takes account of the clients developing knowledge for best practice and care of dementia residents.
The client’s outward attitude towards innovation has led to the installation of the UKs first acoustic monitoring nurse call system integrated via the Wi-Fi network to mobile handsets linking to nurse call, door access, fire alarm messaging and internal / external telephone communication.
A central monitoring station allows staff to monitor acoustically with highly sophisticated software in each bedroom. Early results have indicated a reduction in resident falls by up to 33%. The building also incorporated a gas fuel CHP unit as the lead heat generator to achieve the 10% betterment of the Co2 emissions for part L2 compliance and as required by the local planning authority.
LED lighting was installed throughout with electronic dimmable lighting control in communal areas.
