7th November 2017
ESD are delighted to advise the successful completion and handover of the new Holyhead Primary School Ysgol Cybi ready for its first pupil intake in autumn 2017.
The new £9m school, accommodates 540 pupils with 70 nursery pupils who will benefit from the latest facilities and resources to include modern and well equipped classrooms and suitable outdoor areas for play and learning. The project was part funded by the Welsh Government through the 21st Century Schools Programme and ESD were proud to continue working with Wynne Construction on behalf of Anglesey County Council to deliver this prestigious development which included renovation of the existing Grade II listed building as part of the works. The project was one of the first in North Wales to adopt Building Information Modelling (BIM) to the full level 2 standard, which allows designers and constructors to work collaboratively to streamline and accurately model a construction project before work starts on site leading to improved collaboration and co-ordination across the disciplines and installation teams.
ESD were appointed to deliver detailed design services following the BIM Level 2 PAS 1192 processes and also provided commissioning management and monitoring services following the requirements of BREEAM excellent MAN04.
