ESD Commence on New Belong Chester Development Scheme

We are pleased to announce that Cheshire West and Chester Council granted proposals in May 2017 for a new Belong Care Village on City Road in Chester. This will provide world-leading dementia care in the heart of the city Centre, as well as a range of amenities for the wider community.
The village will offer 23No one and two bed apartments for independent living, the new care home development will incorporate six households (with 72 en-suite bedrooms and 3 guest bedrooms in total) where 24-hour care will be provided, including specialist dementia and nursing support. These will be available on a rent or buy basis and will boast a hub of facilities including a gym, bistro, hair salon and therapy rooms, which are open to members of the wider community. Outreach services include home care and a specialist day care service which enables customers to take advantage of village amenities and the specialist dementia support available.
The site extends to Queen’s Avenue and will involve the landscaping of surrounding areas, including the canal-side conservation area, for the benefit of local residents.
Construction work is scheduled to begin later this year and the village is due to open in 2019.
This is the latest in a long continued relationship with Belong for ESD. ESD have designed the M&E services for previous schemes including Atherton, Crewe, Macclesfield, Wigan, Warrington and Disbury which opened in June 2017, Belong Newcastle-under-Lyme which is expected to open in January 2018 and Birkdale which is currently scheduled for completion in 2019.
