Residents Move into New Extended Trepassey Care Home Located in Heswall on the Wirral
29th June 2018
The phase 1 works on the Trepassey care home scheme was successfully handed over to the client on the 2nd May 2018. This complex scheme was developed on the site of the existing 19th Century Cheshire Residential Homes Trust building remaining operational as a ‘live site’ during the whole of the construction period.
The main extension building creating all of the new care home bedrooms and ancillary / communal areas complete with dementia care facilities was extremely challenging from a design and construction process across what was an extremely steep site with significant changes in ground levels. The design incorporates various floor level changes within the building to take into account the slope of the site whilst maintaining good outward views for residents from within the care bedrooms.
The construction incorporated CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) superstructure with detailed M&E co-ordination essential at the design stage and prior to the offsite construction process.
The building was constructed by Cruden Construction and fellow design team members include Tweed Nuttall Warburton Architects, Thornton Firkin LLP Quantity Surveyors and Curtins structural engineers.
Phase 2 of the works comprising the refurbishment and remodelling of the existing house building is underway and due for completion in 2019.
